I am the life

This Sunday we continue our series for Lent called ‘Knowing Jesus’. In this series we are looking at what Jesus says about himself in the Gospel of John, mainly through a series of statements where Jesus says “I am”.

This Sunday we look at what Jesus meant when he said “I am the life”. What was Jesus promising when he said in John 10:10, “I have come that you may have life and have it to the full?”

How would you define a full life? It’s an important question to ask ourselves because if our definition of a ‘full life’ is different to what Jesus promises we are setting ourselves up to be disappointed by God when he doesn’t give us what we expect.

We will also look at one of the common challenges that prevent many of us from experiencing the full life Jesus came to give us.

Come and join us this Sunday as we celebrate the life we have in Jesus!

Bible Readings: John 10:7-10; 14:5-7

You are welcome to hear from our vicar, Dan Mueller, on Tuesday March 1st in Good Shepherd church hall. He will lead the Bible study at 1pm and later he will tell us about himself as our guest speaker. Join us for this afternoon with Dan and get to know him further over afternoon tea. We would love to see you there.

Men @ Para Vista
Last Saturday morning, the hall came alive and full of chatter as breakfast was served to approximately 60 men aged from 14 to 92 years. The Guest speaker, Darren Shelton (Detective and Minister) shared his message on “We are not what we do; we are the person that God Loves.” It was an Interesting morning of Law and Order and Faith.

Saturday 30th April, it all happens again - Guest Speaker Ken Sleeman will share his journey in Faith. Save the date.

From the Office

Administration Reception Position
We are pleased to announce that Belinda Konrad was the successful applicant for the position of Administration Reception at Good Shepherd.  Belinda will be starting in the office on Monday 7th March.  Belinda will be taking on Rochelle’s roll as Rochelle will move into the Worship Support and Digital Communication roll. To assist Belinda please ensure your connect cards are completed on a Sunday and placed into the offering bowl.

A communications folder
Reminder to all members - there is a communications folder in the kitchen to the right of the door as you enter from the passage way. Instead of approaching part-time staff on Sundays, please use this folder to communicate things like: misplaced items, minor maintenance issues, cleaning products or kitchen supply shortages.

This will allow our staff to worship and not feel compelled to carry out duties on their day off.  Alternatively, you can email the church office churchenquiries@paravista.org.au

Vacancy
An opportunity still exists for respondents to any security alarm events needing investigation at the church.  For expressions of interest please contact Stephen on szanker@paravista.org.au, the office on 8263 5087 or mark security on your connect card.
